A decade inside the stories of Nigerian organisations.

Opeyemi Olugbemiro has spent over a decade inside the stories of Nigerian organisations — helping founders, teams, and institutions find the language that makes what they are building legible to the people who need to understand it most.

After graduating in Mass Communication from the University of Benin, he went to Akure to serve. While there, he found himself drawn into the work of communication — running a radio show, organising solution-driven conferences, and engaging with communities around ideas that could move people forward. It was not a grand plan. It was a conviction, quietly expressed, that clarity changes things.

As Partner in Strategy at FourthCanvas, one of Nigeria’s most respected creative agencies, he led brand strategy engagements for organisations across fintech, real estate, and logistics — including the rebrands of Nomba, Afriex, and Parkway, and a communications engagement with the Ondo State Government’s Develop Ondo programme. Independently, he contributed to the website for the launch of Titan Trust Bank. Across a decade of this work, a pattern became impossible to ignore.

The organisations that struggled were not always struggling because their products were weak or their markets thin — though those are real and the constraints of building in Nigeria are not lost on him. Many were struggling because the right people did not have the right story about them. Investors were forming the wrong impressions. Customers could not explain the value in their own words. Teams were pulling in different directions because no one had agreed on what the organisation fundamentally stood for. The product deserved better than the story it was being given.
